Mona and Lisa

Nurses Mona and Lisa are characters seen in Machete and Machete Kills.

Machete[]

Nurse Mona and Nurse Lisa are twins. They are first appeared as the caretakers of Machete who is gravely injured at that moment. They both are in the clandestine Mexican group called 'The Network' and in the end they help Machete fight Torrez at the final battle.

They both show some signs of interest in Machete as they both kiss him.

Etymology[]

Mona: Anglicized form of MUADHNAIT. It is also associated with Greek monos "one" and Leonardo da Vinci's painting the 'Mona Lisa' (in which case it is a contraction of Italian ma donna meaning "my lady").

Lisa: Short form of ELIZABETH, ELISABETH, ELISABET or ELISABETTA. This is the name of the subject of one of the world's most famous paintings, the 'Mona Lisa', the portrait of Lisa del Giocondo by Leonardo da Vinci.
